The Mall of Dehradun, located in the state’s capital, opened on Saturday. The mall covers a total built-up area of 1,071,008 sq ft, which includes 402,895 sq ft dedicated to retail space.

“The Mall of Dehradun represents a significant milestone for us. We have showcased the state’s vibrant culture, exquisite cuisine, tourism potential, and tranquil environment through murals and architectural features.

“Moreover, we have made certain that Uttarakhand’s local cuisine is given a place of honor in the food court,” stated Abhishek Bansal, the executive director of Pacific Group, the company leading the project.

The developers’ communique states that the mall is a ‘green building with LEED certification’, utilizing energy-efficient materials. This includes a 600-kilowatt solar photovoltaic plant and sustainable systems for water and waste management.

The inauguration event showcased a variety of cultural acts and culminated in the reveal of the Pride Wall, a three-dimensional art piece that honors Uttarakhand’s traditional dishes, artistic displays, scenery, and contemporary and historical sites. The ceremony concluded with a show by the folk artist Priyanka Meher.
