Launch of Lal Kuan-Bandra Superfast Train: Chief Minister Dhami Flags Off the Service

Virtual Inauguration Ceremony
Dehradun: The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, inaugurated the new superfast train service between Lal Kuan and Bandra via a virtual platform today. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized that this train service fulfills a long-standing demand and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their support in making this possible. He noted that this service would greatly ease travel for passengers.

A Better Option for Pilgrims


Dhami mentioned that the commencement of the Lal Kuan-Bandra rail service would provide an excellent travel option for pilgrims visiting Baba Kanchi Dham and other religious sites. He stated, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are taking Indian Railways to new heights. Trains like Vande Bharat symbolize self-reliance and modernity.”

Development of Railway Network


The Chief Minister further remarked that the construction of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line would fulfill the dream of extending train services to the mountains. He noted that the survey for the Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line has been completed, and construction will begin soon. He also assured that efforts would be made to expand rail services from Uttarakhand to key cities like Kashi and Ayodhya.

Message from the MP


MP Ajay Bhatt mentioned that the demand for a direct train service from Lal Kuan to Mumbai had been a long-standing wish of the local residents, which has now been realized. He highlighted that this new service would benefit the residents of the Kumaon region and tourists visiting various religious sites.

Train Operation Details


The new train, numbered 22544, will depart from Lal Kuan at 07:45 AM on Mondays, making stops at Rudrapur City, Rampur, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Mathura, Kota, Vadodara, and Surat, before arriving at Bandra Terminal at 08:30 AM on Tuesday. On its return journey, the train will leave Bandra at 11:00 AM on Tuesday and reach Lal Kuan at 13:15 PM on Wednesday.

Passenger-Friendly Amenities


To enhance passenger comfort, the train is equipped with one second AC coach, two third AC coaches, three AC Economy coaches, six sleeper coaches, and four general coaches. All coaches are designed with LHB technology, ensuring safety and convenience for travelers.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by MLA Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht, former MLA Naveen Dumka, district president Pradeep Bisht, Deep Koshyari, and DRM Rekha Yadav.
