Uttarkashi Purola: A wasp attack on siblings resulted in the brother’s death, leaving the family devastated. In Mandia village of Uttarkashi district, wasps attacked a brother and sister returning home from school, causing the death of the four-year-old brother, while his older sister is in critical condition and has been admitted to the hospital. Just a day before, a 67-year-old man from Riyat village in Jaunpur Block, Tehri, died due to a similar wasp attack.
According to reports, Rajkumar’s daughter Riya (12) studies at the nearby primary school in Mandia village. On Saturday, Rajkumar had dropped his son Rihan (4) off with his sister at school. It is said that while the two were returning home from school, a swarm of wasps attacked them, creating chaos as they screamed for help. Nearby villagers informed the family, who quickly took the siblings to the hospital, where doctors declared Rihan dead.
A wasp nest had been spotted on a tree near the school, and someone had disturbed it, causing the wasps to become aggressive and attack the children. The school’s principal, Ranjan Lal, mentioned that Riya’s father had left her younger brother with her at school, and the incident happened while they were returning home after school. The tragic incident has left the family and village in mourning
