CM Dhami reveals a plan to rename streets and parks after freedom fighters.

Uttarakhand’s prominent chaurahas and roads will be named after freedom fighters, statehood activists, and prominent personalities.
“They have given us a lot, and we must honor them,” said chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in his Independence Day speech on Tuesday.

Under the CM Parvatiya Nagar Vikas Yojana, two hill towns in Kumaon and Garhwal will be developed as model towns to boost tourism. Dhami said as he hoisted the national flag at the parade ground that the state government will prepare a detailed project report for the revival of traditional Haripur town on the banks of the Yamuna River. Dhami also recognized five police officers and personnel: SP Amit Srivastava, SP Rekha Yadav, ASP Sarita Dobhal, head constable Chaman Kumar, and Constable Dhirendra.

Dhami also awarded the CM Distinguished Service Medal to five police officers and personnel: SP Amit Srivastava, SP Rekha Yadav, ASP Sarita Dobhal, head constable Chaman Kumar, and Constable Dhirendra Singh Chauhan. During the event, he congratulated freedom fighters.

Dhami announced that during the protests against the Agniveer scheme, cases filed against students or those preparing for competitive exams would be dropped. The state intends to establish a dedicated portal to combat mining material black marketeering. He announced plans to develop airlifting services for pregnant women in outlying areas of the states.
