Crimes against women and children are given priority under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill 2023, which will replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The sedition law has been repealed, and crimes relating to organized crime, terrorism, and sexual activity under the guise of a fraudulent marriage promise have been added. A clause prohibiting mob lynchings, which could result in the death penalty, has been introduced.
