One week Bee Farming seminar is starter.

Dehradun – To promote the production of high value Bee by-products in addition to honey, by the Department of Horticulture and Food Processing, Uttarakhand and Uttarakhand Horticulture Council, National Bee Council, Government of India for capacity/efficiency development of the Bee rearers, departmental employees/officers. The seven-day training program, which will run from Tuesday May 3 to May 08, was inaugurated at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Auditorium, Government Park Circuit House, Dehradun with the help of Dr. District Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Almora districts participated. The program was started by lighting the lamp by Dr. HS Baweja, Director Garden. Along with this, a lecture was given by Dr. Baweja on the present status and possibility of Bee in India. It was told by them that farmers get direct benefit from honey production on the one hand by keeping bee.

Keeping in view the immense potential of animal husbandry in the state, the Horticulture Department is promoting animal husbandry under various centrally funded and state/district sector schemes, so that there is a huge potential to earn foreign capital by exporting quality honey rich in organic and medicinal properties. Possibilities exist. In which the income of the farmers can be increased by promoting the Bee products by training the trainees of different districts.
